Although we do offer a wide selection of sizing options from which to choose, in a variety of species that will address the majority of applications, there are going to be situations that require special attention and that is what our Custom Shop is all about.  Should you require a size or material that is not listed, give us a shout and we will do our best to accommodate.  We will need to know the width and thickness of your casing and baseboard, as well as the material species and any manner of finishing (paint/stain/natural/etc) to offer assistance.  Even if all you need is a little advice concerning size selection, just call or click.

Basic Shop Services

Small orders:

Many items in our on-line store require a minimum quantity to be ordered.  This is because it is not feasible to inventory every size and species that is listed, and it takes a certain amount of time to reset the mills for the various options.  Unless we produce sufficient quantities after setting up we actually lose money.  If you only need a few, we don't mind, provided it pays the bills.  For a small setup charge of ten dollars we will be happy to make as few as you wish.

Sizing alterations:

Although we have a wide variety of sizes from which to choose, the most common request we get is for something a little thicker or thinner, or something in-between the widths listed in the menus.  The process gives us much flexibility, but there are limits and we will need to assess each situation.  Individual pricing will be pro-rated based on the nearest match in size.

Species availability:

Nearly any hardwood specimen can be inletted with our designs, although we have listed only the more common varieties in the menus for sake of space.  We stock a selection of the popular hardwoods, in various thickness, for quick turn-around.  If you need something out of the ordinary it may take a little longer but we should be able to accommodate.  Price is dependant upon the current market.  We can also work with composites such as Medium Density Fiberboard.

Edge detailing:

After a couple of decades of providing custom decorative mouldings with an edge detail option of choice, there has been one clear favorite of the people and that is the one we apply as our "default" edge.  If you prefer any of the others as shown below, or nothing at all, enter your preference in the 'comments' when you check out, or call.  There is no additional charge for a change of edge detail.

Standard edge details are cut to a 5/32" depth, if you would like a bolder or fainter profile give us a shout.  We can adjust edge and block size accordingly.
